WHAT’S A #VERYYOU MOMENT?
When I’m blasting music and driving fast in my car.
WHAT DOES BEAUTY MEAN TO YOU?
Beauty means having the ability to change who you are by expressing yourself. Makeup allows me to be whoever the hell I want to be that day. It also boosts my mood!
WHAT IS AN ISSUE YOU WANT TO SEE IMPROVE FOR WOMEN?
Since I’m an actress, it’s very apparent to me that Hollywood needs to shift. Most executives are men. The film industry is male-dominated, and gender inequality needs to be addressed to include diverse stories and perspectives. Aren’t we tired of watching the same stories?
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT A TIME YOU HAD TO OVERCOME A FEAR? HOW DID YOU DO IT?
I overcame the fear of public speaking by taking improv classes. This helped me with auditions and acting. I used to be so scared, but now I’m confident putting myself out there! I speak from the heart and show my authentic self.
WHEN IT COMES TO INCLUSION, DO YOU THINK BEAUTY IS HITTING THE MARK?
There’s a shift especially within modeling. If it’s not a performative allyship, then it’s a great change. Being Korean-American, but culturally Brazilian, I stand by inclusion in the industry. There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done.
